Origin & Culture
Actress is an early variety of potato, obtained by Agroplant Holland via the cross Denise Agata. It is cultivated in several regions, including the South-East of France, for a few years. j
Morphology & Production
Tubers: excellent oval to round shape, with a beautiful yellow skin and light yellow flesh
Eyes: shallow, which facilitates peeling
Productivity: remarkable yield, estimated at 125% of that of the Charlotte, with efficient tubering and numerous medium to large tubers
Maturity & Harvest
Early: harvest possible in about 90 days for a new crop, or up to 120 days to obtain tubers to preserve.
Consistency & Conservation
Keeps between 5 and 7 months under adequate conditions
Sensitivity to blight, both foliage and tuber, but good tolerance to drought and common scab
Culinary Uses
Very floury flesh perfect for purees, soups, and oven recipes
Versatile in cooking (group AB): very suitable also for hot or cold salads, steam, slow-cooked dishes
Less recommended for frying because of its low dry matter (risk of less crispy texture)
